T.A Timms &
Son is family business owned and run by Desmond & Rachel Timms. Desmond
having worked previously some eight years for the great English Case Maker
and dear friend of many years Mick Gordge. The company is named after
Desmond’s late Father Thomas Albert Timms who provided ‘the practical gene
‘and took a keen interest in the business until his death in 2002.
Rachel has rare
skills in sewing to a very high quality and standard, and makes any item
that requires use of a needle. Desmond can do all the rest (but has a fear
of needles).
Together and
using the skills and knowledge taught by Mick Gordge, who in turn learned
his trade as an apprentice at W.E. Hill & Sons, we continue on the
English Violin Case Making Tradition, striving always for perfection.
